April Tidey

The May issue of Canadian House & Home is one of my all-time favourite issues. This is due mainly because of the feature of Vancouver designer ‘s loft and cottage (some photos of which are below). They are filled with such creative and eclectic ideas, and such a variety of different styles. This appears to be her signature look, the mix of ornate antiques, mid century modern furnishings and bold accessories. I LOVE that, because it creates such intriguing spaces where you’re bound to find something eye-catching at every turn.

The photography below is that of Heather Ross, a multi-talented Vancouverite who not only takes fabulous photos but has a boutique of antique finds, accessories, textiles, her photography etc. and also creates stunning paintings that she sells in her shop. Do go have a looksie .

love the green eames chairs

does anyone know what those rugs are called? the white furry ones with the black geometric lines.

She would be thrilled to be featured here!! I worked with April on Take it Outside on HGTV, and she is an amazing stylist, and a warm person. She really does live that life. I’m passing this link on to her, if you don’t mind.

Beautiful! I want to live in each one of these rooms. The Brickhouse – the carpets look like Moroccan Beni Ourain carpets. If you like those you’ll also like Moroccan wedding blankets too.

Sure Michelle! I was so stoked to find such an AMAZING portfolio by a fellow Canadian, and to be able to share it with our readers.

Lisa – a Beni what? LOL. Going to google/search on eBay. Want to see more. You’re always a wealth of knowledge.

Lovely but this April Tidey/H&H gallery is so all over the blog-world. Kinda turning into the Vanilla Ice of design images, non?

kim. says:

Too bad. She’s Canadian and she ROCKS. Therefore, I had to post her.

the top right picture makes me CRAZY!!!! i love so much in it. the lucite nesting tables, that GORGEOUS mCm piece in the background….what is it?? hutch, buffet, sideboard…whatever it is it makes me want to punch someone.
love it kim. and i really don’t see anything vanilla at ALL about any of these images. that’s just crazy talk.

ok. so i see that those are NOT nesting tables but a table with a little cubby thing underneath. still cool, maybe even cooler.
